Many TIPs fluctuate between extremes of idealization and devaluation, called "dichotomous thinking".
They perceive other people as evil witches or fairies, depending on whether they meet their needs.
Show difficulty integrating good and bad features of a person's opinion about someone usually often based on the last interaction with that person.
The identity diffusion is a feature that leads to feelings of emptiness.
The alteration of identity refers to the sense of not knowing who they are.
People with BPD are full of contradictory images of themselves that they can not integrate.
Comment that they feel empty inside, that there is "nothing in me," people who are different depending on who they are.
A feeling of emptiness that makes them dependent on others for clues on how to behave, what to think and how to be; while being alone leaves them a sense of who they are or with the feeling that they do not exist.
This partly explains the frantic and impulsive efforts these people do to avoid loneliness, as his descriptions of panic, chronic boredom and dissociation.
Most people have varying abilities to control impulses and delay immediate gratification. They are aware of the long-term.
